Albert Van Otterloo of Alton was born at Holland, Mich, on Nov. 18, 1874 and died Sept. 11, 1947 after a short serious illness. He reached the age of 72 years, 9 months, 24 days.
On February 27, 1900 he was married to Annie Schaap, who now survives him with their 4 children: Steven of Orange City; John of Denver, Col.; Lydia (Mrs. John Starkenburg) of Alton, and Elizabeth (Mrs. Wm. Dolieslager) of LeMars.
He also leaves to mourn his departure his step-mother, Mrs. Steven S. Van Otterloo Sr. of Sioux-Center, 3 brothers and 1 sister, Herman of Rock Valley; Alice (Mrs. Gerrit Hoekstra) of Rock Valley; Johannes of Hawarden; and Gerrit of Holland, Mich. One stepbrother Peter, of Grand Rapids, and-one stepsister Grace (Mrs. Henry Ter Haar) of Sioux Center. Twentyone grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
One brother John preceded him in death 17 years ago.
Funeral services-were held Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the house and 1:30 at the Christian Reformed Church at Orange City with Rev. Bronkema officiating. Interment was in the O. City cemetery. The Van Otterloos used to farm West of Sioux Center.
