Montie was the first of James McKinley & Louisey Francis (Oldham) Russell's 11 children.

She married Smith Preston in McKinney, Collin Co, TX, on August 17, 1908. Smith was the second child of John Foster, Jr. & Cynthia Caroline Melissa Frances (Vance) Preston.

Montie & Smith had one son, Alva Preston born in McKinney on March 25, 1910. Smith died of tuberculosis one month before their son's second birthday.

Montie's second marriage was to James Malcum Turner, known as Mac, in Emory, Rains Co, TX, on December 29, 1912. Their children were: James Sonio, Alvin Charley, Loyd Lee, Jackson Ross, Giles McBride, Mary Alice, and Marie M.

Montie's obituary follows:
"MONTIE LEE TURNER was born February 18, 1892 in Collin County, Texas the daughter of James M. and Louisey Francis Oldham Russell.

She and James M. Turner were married December 29, 1912 in Emory, Texas. He died July 23, 1973.

In 1923 she was licensed as a minister by West Texas District Council of Assemblies of God. She lived in New Mexico, then Lubbock, Texas, moving to Oklahoma City in 1945. She was ordained by the Oklahoma District Council Assemblies of God in 1950. Then in April 1986 she moved to the Fairview area where she was a member and minister at the Midway Assembly of God Church. She received a 50 year pin for ministering for 50 years.

She is survived by three sons: Loyd Lee and Evelyn Turner of Eugene, Oregon, J. Ross and Colleen Turner of Oklahoma City, and Giles M. and Lee Turner of Fritch, Texas; two daughters: Mrs. W.L. (Marie) Boyd of Fairview, Mrs. Roderick (Mary Alice) Stewart of Auburn, Washington; a daughter-in-law, Alpha Preston Wade of Roseville, CA; a brother, Charley B. Russell of Roswell, New Mexico; two sisters: Myrtle Turner of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Lessie Wright of Belen, New Mexico; 15 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sons: Alva Preston on October 26, 1945, James Sonio Turner on June 14, 1916, and Alvin Charley Turner on March 22, 1918; two brothers: John and Sam Russell; eight sisters: Mary Ethel, Maggie, Mamie, may, Ollie, and unnamed twins."
