Birthdate also given as April 30th, 1889, but birth registration shows as April 28th, 1889. Also, the birth registration shows her name as Lydia Ann Groff, but family documentation from 1941 shows it as Lydian Groff. The original name may have been mispronounced due to elision and over time become Lydian, or it may be incorrectly recorded in the Birth Records. It has also been said that the family changed her name after her father married his second wife, Lydia Willhelm, and she thereafter went by Lydian.
