Obiturary:

John (Jack) Andrew Vick was born on January 5, 1925, to Henry and Lydian Vick and was raised on the homestead near St. Walburg. He attended the Deer Valley and St. Walburg Schools.
Shortly after his 19th birthday, Jack joined the army in 1944 and served overseas in Europe during World War II. He survived the war and was discharged from the army in 1946.
On October 21, 1947 Jack Vick married Josephine Knorr. In 1948 they purchased the farm of Jack's parents (SW36-53-22W3rd). Jack and Josephine raised their family of six and farmed for 30 years prior to retiring in St. Walburg.
Jack was involved in his community; School Trustee, Wheat Pool, Agricultural Society, Credit Union Board, Elks and Legion. Jack served as chairman of the museum and was instrumental in the preservation of the beautiful artwork in the old Catholic Church. Jack loved hockey and refereed many games for 25 years. He started a committee that built the first indoor arena in St. Walburg. He was president of the historical committee that wrote a history book for the St. Walburg area and proudly received a citizen of the year award for his efforts on the project.
Jack drove school bus for 32 years. He was also the last surviving veteran of the St. Walburg Legion.
Jack was predeceased by: his brothers, Bill and Hugh; and his grandson, Aaron.
Jack will be lovingly remembered by: his wife, Josephine; his six children, Dwayne (Cheryl), Bruce (Shirley), Brian (Dorothy), Debby (Stuart), Daniel (Ana), and Kathy; his brother, Frank; his sisters, Esther, Ruth and Barbara; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Jack touched many lives with his kindness, generosity and his unfailing love and pride for his family, community, province and country.
