"New London - Funeral services for George William Ploetz, 59, who died at Oshkosh Tuesday afternoon following an operation, were held at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon from the residence in the town of Caledonia and later from the Lutheran church at Readfield. Burial took place in the Readfield cemetery. Pallbearers included Albert Gorges, Walter Danke, John Schneider, William Wangelin, Arthur Wachow, and William Thieme. Flower girls were Irma Ploetz, Esther Pleotz, Linda Siewert, Ada Thieme, Edna Danke and Selma Wangelin.

"Mr. Ploetz was born at Caledonia Aug. 11, 1888, (sic) the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ploetz. He spent his entire life in that township. He was married to Miss Marie Kalbus of Readfield in 1916. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Lydia, 10; his mother, Mrs. Anna Ploetz: three brothers, Charles of Readfiled, Henry of New London, and Fred of Oshkosh. There are also three sisters, Mrs. Marie Kloehn of Fremont, Mrs. Bertha Wendlandt of Oshkosh, and Mrs. Julia Schmidt of Zittau."
