Mr. Ploetz came to Oshkosh in 1923, was a barber by trade and then from 1924 until retiring in 1955 operated a grocery store at the corner of West 12th Avenue and Minnesota Street. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, Erna; one son, Harry H. Ploetz, Oshkosh; one sister, Mrs. Marie Kloehn, Fremont; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Marquardt Funeral Home, with the Rev. H. 0. Kleinhans officiating in the absence of the Rev. Clarence Koepsell. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. Wednesday until the hour of services.
