"William met with one of the worst accidents that occurred in our canyons in early days when logs were being hauled out of the canyon in the winter time. They used to shide the logs down the montian side into the bottom of the canyon. These logs would travel almost as fast as a bullet. He was struck on the leg by one of these logs which resulted in his death some months later."
