MINETTO - Lawrence T. "Lou" Ahart, 75, a resident of 71 Worden Road, Minetto, died Dec. 12, 2000, at Oswego Hospital. Born in Oswego, he was a son of the late Daniel and Mary (Nichols) Ahart and a life resident of the area. He attended Oswego schools. He was a boilermaker and later a supervisor for Cyclotherm Corporation where he had been employed for more than 40 years. Mr. Ahart was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Seebees in the United States Navy. He was an avid bingo player. Surviving are a son, Daniel of Minetto; two daughters, Theresa Ahart of Minetto and Barbara Ahart and her companion, John Grala, of Volney; two brothers, Leonard of Oswego and Robert of Sun City, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Lawler of Auburn; a granddaughter, Melissa Ahart, a student at New York University; He was predeceased by his wife, Avis, in 1989. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday from St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 7-9 p.m. today at Dowdle Funeral Home, 154 E. Fourth St., Oswego.
