Willard I. Ahart, 62, of 211 E. First St., died Sunday at Oswego Hospital.
Born in Oswego and a lifelong resident, he ws the son of the late Daniel and Mary (Nichols) Ahart. Prior to his retirement, he had been a printer for 32 years on area construction projects.
Mr. Ahart was a graduate of St. Mary's and Oswego High School.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Mr. Ahart was a member of the VFW Post 2320, American Legion Post 268, and a member and financial secretary of Painters Local 38.
Mr. Ahart was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and traveled to both New York and Cleveland on various occasions to watch them play.
He is survived by his wife, Betty (Wise) Ahart; a stepson, Raymond Furniss; a step-daughter, Linda Furniss; five brothers, Leonard and Neil Ahart, both of Oswego, Charles of Scriba, Lawrence of Minetto, Robert of Sun City, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Joseph (mary) Lawler of Auburn; a granddaughter, nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Dowdle Funeral Home and 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Church.
Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Tuesday 2-4 adn 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home, 154 E. Fourth St.
