Daughter of John and Susannah (Fox) Grove. Married, in 1805-1806, North Carolina, John Speer, and moved with him to Jefferson Co KY, to the part that later formed Oldham Co. Mary and John were buried in the old Speer Family Cemetery, which is now part of Floydsburgh Cemetery. Children, other than those with links listed below, were:
Margaret Cloyd Speer (b. 13 Jan 1811, Jefferson Co KY; d. 1860-1870, Daviess Co KY; married, Mar 1830, Oldham Co KY, John Conyers.)
Susan Speer (b. 13 Aug 1813, Jefferson Co KY; d. 1880-1900, Oldham Co KY; married 17 Jan 1832, Oldham Co KY, March Hinkle.)
Amelia Speer (b. 26 Jan 1818, Jefferson Co KY; d. 14 Aug 1854, Oldham Co KY; married ca. 1836 Thomas J. Furniss, #42985998.)
Elvira Speer (b. ca. 1823, Jefferson or Oldham Co KY; died in childhood.)
