~~Estherville--Services for Andrew Solmonson, 91, will be held Friday at 11 am at the Henry and Olson Funeral Chapel with Rev Clifford Halder of United Methodist Church officiating. Intermnet will be in East Side Cemetery. He died Tuesday afternoon, Nov 23, at Holy Family Hospital. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 pm Thursday and Friday till time of services. Solmonson was born 30 Mar 1891 at Gruver, the son of Solomon and Emma (Johnson) Solmonson. He attended rural Emmet County schools through 8th grave and attended Buena Vista. On 11 Apr 1914 he was united in marriage to Irene Wickens of Estherville. He farmed in Gruver-Dolliver-MapleHill are till 1935 when the moved to Estherville and he was employed by the City of Estherville until his retirement. Survivors include four sons: Francis, Wayne, Ernest, and Donald. all of Estherville; two daughters, Mrs Lawrence (Doris) Masear, Des Moines and Mrs Marquis (Evelyn) Shriner; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Orval Solmonson of Orange City and a sister, Rita Sorum, Estherville.
