He was born July 30, 1881 in Fountain County, the son of James and Caroline Odell Claypool.
Claypool was married in 1904 to Lily Burns who died in April of this year.
He was a member of the Union Christian Church. Mr. Claypool attended Merom Theological College at Merom, Ind. He taught school at Rob Roy and operated the Grab-It-Here Store in Attica for years.
Surviving are two sons, C.B. of Beaumont, Texas, and James C. of South Fort Mitchell, Ky.; a daughter, Mrs. Fredrick Meyer of New York City; a brother, A.T. Claypool of Attica; a sister, Mrs. Jessie Claypool of Attica Rural Route; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
