Laz was a true outdoorsman who could hunt, fish, plant, and camp. He was employed in food service 39 years at St. Luke's Hospital (Genesis East). He retired in September 1992.
He married for the second time to Bonnie Jean Sandborn in 1952 in Davenport. They had Monica (Anderson) and Carla (Harry) Spence. He had a son Edward by a previous marriage. A sister Frances Puente and brother Victor "Nino" Saldivar are the last of his siblings.
He was a member St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, and a former member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf. He also enjoyed dancing.
