Walker L. Pierce Sr., 83, of Buehler Home, formerly of 4407 W. Middle Road, died at 9:39 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 1996, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

Born Nov. 25, 1912, in Alta to Robert Henry and Florence Knilans Pierce, he married Leona Stear on March 3, 1935, in Peoria. She died Feb. 22, 1971, in Peoria. He also was preceded in death by one brother.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Charles (Sandie) Watson Jr. and Debbie Pierce, both of East Peoria, Mrs. Henry (Marge) Johnson of Glasford and Mrs. James (Carol) Bolliger of Punta Gorda, Fla.; two sons, Walker L. Jr. and Terry L., both of Peoria; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Robert (Marilyn) Nolan of Morton; and several nieces and nephews.

A Caterpillar Inc. employee for 33 years, he retired as a heat treatment supervisor in 1974. He was a member of the American Society of Metals. He served on the former Peoria County Board of School Trustees.

He was a member of Howard Street Christian Church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. The Rev. Dwight Winnett will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Buriel will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
