CHRIS KARAU DIES THIS MORNING; LAST RITES SATURDAY

Christ Karau, who had been a resident in this county since 1884, passed away this morning commencing a three year illness. His condition had been serious for the past three weeks.

Services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Taylor Funeral Home with the Rev W.W. Vogelmann officiating. Burial will take place in Merrill Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from seven Friday until the hour of services Saturday.

Mr. Karau was born in Germany on June 17, 1877 and was 75 years of age. When he was seven years of age, he accompanied his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christ Karau, Sr. to this country and to Lincoln County. He his survived by three brothers, Gottlieb and Herman Karau of Merrill and Albert of Pine River.

Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers, August, Dan and Carl Karau, four sisters, Mrs. Max (Auguste) Hirsche, Mrs. Jacob (Lena) Lembrecht, Mrs. Charles (Hulda) Lange and Mrs. Ernst (Caroline) Pankow.
