TAKEN IN DEATH
Dovie Elizabeth Lackey, 60, of Route Two, Stony Point died unexpectedly July 18 in Iredell County.
Born on April 25, 1909, in Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late Adolphus R. and Mary Guy Bowles. She was married to R. Frank Lackey, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Robert Joe of Statesville, Ralph C. of Burlington and Douglas B. of Stony Point; one daughter, Miss Mary Jean Lackey of the home; three grandchildren; four brothers, Ernest L. Bowles, Troy Bowles, Thomas Bowles and Joe Bowles, all of Statesville; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Peterson of Charlotte and Mrs. Spencer Sprinkle of Statesville.
Funeral services were held July 20, at 3:30 p.m. at the Stony Point Methodist Church. Rev. Benny Myers and Rev. Henry C. Cook, Jr. officiated. Burial followed in the New Salem Presbyterian Cemetery.
