Residence Marengo, Iowa nativity Ohio.
Enlisted Aug. 13, 1862 into Co E 24th Iowa Infantry.
Mustered Aug. 2S, 1862.
Promoted Corporal Oct. 4, 1862.
Having endured the hardships of Helena, Arkansas, the Siege of Vicksburg, the Battles of Champion Hill, MS, Cedar Creek and Winchester, VA, as well as numerous other confrontations, George was discharged for disability March 13, 1865, Keokuk, Iowa.

John A. W. Rosenberger (age 18), John N Rosenberger (age 18) and Rufus W Rosenberger (age 21), probably close relatives, all enlisted in Co E 24th Iowa Infantry.
John A. W. died of disease Aug 8 1863 at Vicksburg.
John N survived unscathed.
Rufus W was wounded severely Battle of Champion Hill, MS May 16 1863, taken prisoner Mansfield, Louisiana Apr 8 1864, paroled Dec 8 1864, Mustered out Jul 8 1865.
