Patrick A. Haydon died in War Memorial Hospital, Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan on 17 January 1969, following a short illness.

He was born in Rudyard, Sept. 14, 1909, and had been a Sault Ste. Marie resident since 1933. He was employed by the U.S. Corps of Engineers as a lockmaster at the Sault Locks.

He was married to the former Jane Sims in Rudyard in 1932, and was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors included his wife, two sons, James of Tawas City, Thomas of Wabash, Ind., two daughters, Mrs. John (Peggy) Marble and Mrs. Donald (Ann) Dolezel, both of the Sault, and 11 grandchildren. Additional survivors were two brothers, Tim and William of the Sault, and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Larson of Rudyard, Mrs. Margaret Desrochers of Marquette, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral at St. Mary's Church with the Rev. Robert Monroe officiating. Burial in Oaklawn Chapel Gardens. Honorary pallbearers were Wendell Routhier, Robert Cartwright, Harmon Knop, Albert Fuerstnau, Earl Spuhler and Ben Killips. Active pallbearers were William Torok, Emil Pennington, Gordon Osterhout, Keith Holton, Herb Michaels and Newton Cryderman.
