John Timothy Haydon, known as Tim Haydon, of 541 Court St., died unexpectedly at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, 1972, at his home.

Timothy Haydon was born Oct. 17, 1907, in Rudyard and was a life-time resident of Sault Ste. Marie and Rudyard. He was a retired assistant lockmaster and had been employed with the U.S. Corps of Engineers for 28 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 649, and the American Legion.

He was married at St. Mary's Church on Sept. 21, 1943, to the former Edna S. Fuerstnau, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Laurie (Helen) Larson of Rudyard and Mrs. Margaret Desrochers of Marquette and a brother, William Haydon of Sault Ste. Marie.

Calling hours at the Bailey-Newhouse Funeral Home will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, with prayers at 8 p.m. The Knights of Columbus will meet at 8 p.m. Thursday for prayers. Funeral service will be conducted at 9 a.m. Friday from St. Mary's Church. A nephew, the Rev. Tim Desrochers of Garden, Mich., will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Chapel Garden.
