Callistus J. Smith, 69, of R1, Starlight, died there Sunday [April 26, 1987]. He was a native of Clark County, retired founder and owner of the Callistus Smith Insurance Agency of Southern Indiana, a board member of the L.I.F.E. organization, and a member of the board of directors of Community First Federal Savings & Loan. He was a member of the Rev. Richard Smith Council #8586 of the Knights of Columbus and the Borden Lions Club, and treasurer of the Southern Indiana Independent Insurance Agents Association. Survivors: his wife, the former Geneva Buechler; three sons, Donald, Kenneth & Glenn Smith, all of Floyds Knobs; five daughters, Brenda Smith of Jeffersonville, Charlotte Mooney of Newark, NY, Evelyn Heiligenberg of New Albany, Nancy Lynch of Floyds Knobs, and Ann J. Baker; four brothers, Julius W. Smith and L. “Bud” Smith, both of Borden, Robert P. Smith of Floyds Knobs and George I.
