Mr. Thorne had operated a ranch at Jewett for many years and had often visited in Dallas. He became ill shortly after Christmas and was brought to Dallas for treatment.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Berta Thorne; a daughter, Miss Lona Bell Thorne, Jewett; six sons, Bernice Thorne, Ralph Thorne, Joe Thorne and Wendell Thorne, all of Texas City, Galveston County; Eric Thorne, Coleman, and Buie Thorne, Jewett; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Moore, Mrs. John Sigmund and Mrs. W. H. Reid, all of Dallas, and three brothers, R. J. Thorne, M. C. Thorne and Carl Thorne, all of Dallas.
