WOMAN TAKEN ILL AT CHURCH, DIES

Jefferson, February 2 – Taken ill while attending revival services at the local United Brethren Church this evening, Mrs. Mantilla Spangler, wife of Frank L. Spangler, this place, was removed to her home where she died shortly afterward.
Mrs. Spangler, who was in her 64th year, had been under the doctor's care for some time, suffering with a complication of diseases. During the church service tonight, she suddenly complained of shortness of breath. She was taken home at once and Dr. Oren Gunnet, local physician, was summoned. Death ensued at 9 o'clock, being due to a heart condition.
Mrs. Spangler is survived by her husband; five children, Mrs. Jacob Caslow, Glen Rock RD 3; Clayton F. Spangler, Glen Rock RD 1; John B. Spangler, Seven Valleys RD 1; Mrs. Melvin Doll, Glenville, and Miss Lettie Spangler, at home, and the following brothers and sisters: Elmer E. Shearer, Brodbeck; Mrs. Adam Rohrbaugh, York; John D. Shearer, this place; Mrs. Francis Cornbower, Brodbeck RD 1; Mrs. Clement Miller, of Saginaw; Samuel H. Shearer, Brodbeck, and Chester M. Shearer, York.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m., with brief services at the residence and concluding services at the United Brethren Church, of which she was a member. The pastor, Rev. A. C. Crone, will officiate. Interment will be made in the Jefferson Cemetery. G. W. Geiple and Son, Glen Rock funeral directors, are in charge of arrangements.
