Funeral services were held on Wednesday May 16 a nine o'clock for Mrs. John Hanzlicek. Msgr H S Haukap offered the high mass requim and officiated at the graveside services at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Anna Bohnart, daughter of Andrew and Christina Bohnart was born in 1876 one and one half miles east of Lawrence. She was one of the first child born in this community to the very early pioneers of this county. The present site of Sacred Heart Cemetery was part of the Bohnart family homestead. She was married to John Hanzlicek at Omaha Nebr in 1897 and live for a year in Omaha before they returned to Lawrence. They spent the rest of their lives in or near this community.

The deceased passed away at her home in Lawrence on May 13 at the age of 74 years 11 months 9 days. She was a quiet home loving person whose family was her chief interest and concern. Her gentle manner and warm friendliness will be missed by her many friends.

Mrs. Hanzlicek was preceded in death by her husband who passed away in December of 1948. She is survived by her seven children, Mrs. Christina Reiman of Lawrence, William of Martell, Joseph of Riverton, Wyo., Henry Hanzlicek of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Susan Slaby of Red Cloud, George of Essex, Iowa, and ALbert Hanzlicek of Lincoln. All were able to be present at the final rite of their mother. She also leaves to mourn her loss seven grandchildren, two brothers, Louie Bohnart of Wood River and Joseph Bohnart of Linneaus, Mo.

Pall bearers were Alois Krebsbach, Frank Hubl Jr., Frank Hofstetter, Albert Hofstetter, George Bohnart and James Hofstetter

Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were the Hanzlicek children, Mr and Mrs. Louie Bohnart and George Bohnart of Wood River, Mr and Mrs. Walter Schlick of Grand Island.
