Born in Kashabowie, she was raised there and later moved to Emo, Ontario and then to Port Arthur in 1947. Her home and church were her main interests. Senja was a former member of Our Lady of Loretto Roman Catholic Church and was an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary and a Spiritual Child of Padre Pio. She had resided at Versa Care Centre fro the past number of years and she will be remembered by all that knew her as a very nice and decent person.
Senja is survived by brother Art (Verna) Hogan of Vancouver British Columbia, sister Pat (Mello) Schiebel of Kitchener, Ontario, Sister Monica of Chatham, Ontario, sister Josephine Vaudrin of Crookston, Minnesota, USA. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Predeceased by her parents William Enos Hogan and wife Senja Ristenen, her husband William and son John, brothers Joseph, Andrew and Gordon, sisters Lillian Witcheruk, Phoebe Hogan, Doreen Desrochers, and a baby brother Francis in infancy. Also predeceased by half brothers Leo, Barney, William and Enos, half sister Muriel.
Senja will also be missed by her very dear friend Rita Georgisen who visited her often.
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Senja Faber will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Everest Funeral Chapel, 299 Waverley St. at Algoma, officiated by Father Allan Campeau. Interment will follow in St. Andrew's R. C. Cemetery. Visistation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday morning, one hour prior to the service time in the Everest Chapel. Should friends desire donations to St. Joseph's Hospice Unit or St. Andrew's R. C. Church would be appreciated.
