Joint funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Eugene Slaugh were held Monday at 2 p.m. in Orderville LDS Ward chapel. The couple were victims of an auto accident Thursday of last week. They were former residents of Davis where Mr. Slaugh served as Bishop.
Mrs. Slaugh was killed instantly in a headon truck car collision seven miles south of Hatch on U. S. 89. Mr. Slaugh died shortly before he was taken to Salt Lake City by ambulence.
Mr. Slaugh was born April 20, 1913, in Vernal, a son of Isaac Ivory and Sarah Ellen Johnson Slaugh. He married Naomi Collier in Vernal and the marriage was solemnized later in the Salt Lake Temple.
Mrs. Slaugh was born November 15, 1914, in Vernal, a daughter of Franklin D. and Rowena Stephens Collier.
Survivors include two sons, Jene J., San Diego, California; and Leon D., Page, Arizona; three daughters, Mrs. Nila Bolander, Page; Mrs. Lenore S. Hardy and Helne Slaugh, Orderville and several grandchildren.
Burial was in Orderville Cemetery.
The Slaughs had moved to Orderville in 1951 from Vernal. He had worked there as a garage attendant and had recently been released from the high priests quorum presidency. He had also managed a Little League baseball team.
Also surviving him are his Mother, Vernal; two brothers, Angus, Vernal and Henry, Salt Lake City and three sisters, Mrs. Leonard (Wilda) Allen, Orem and Mrs. Emmy Smuin and Mrs. Idell Smuin, both of Vernal.
Surviving her parents are her parents, Vernal; two brothers, Melvin, Tacoma, Washington; Harlen, Argentina; and two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Iona) Williams, Vernal and Mrs. Erma Long, Casper, Wyoming.
