Oxenrider Rites
Funeral services for Charles A. Oxenrider, 59, of Biddle St., Gordon, who died Tuesday in Ashland State Hospital, will be held Friday afternoon from the Lawrence F. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, RD. Interment will in St John's Reformed Cemetery, Leck Kill. The Rev Doyle Luckenbaugh, United Church of Christ, Leck Kill, will officiate.
Mr. Oxenrider was admitted to the hospital on Saturday. He was in ill health for several years.
A son of the late Francis and Sarah (Salek) Oxenrider, he was born May 21, 1909 at Rebuck.
He was a retired miner, a member of Gordon Fire Co., Hegins and Valley View Fire Companies, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ashland; United Mine Workers Union.
His wife, the former Ivy Umholtz, died October 9, 1968.
Surviving are his stepmother, Mrs. Katie Oxenrider, of Herndon RD1; eight brothers, James G. and Amond, of Klingerstown RD; John, of Herndon; Ammon and Wayne, of Dornsife RD; Harry, Mark, and Carl, of Herndon RD; six sisters, Mrs. Allen Stiely, of Sacramento; Mrs. Daniel Adams, Mrs. Paul L. Wetzel, of Pitman; Mrs. Eleanor Rebuck, of Herndon Rd, Mrs. Vinson Walters, of Millersburg; Mrs. Jack Hamilton, of Lykens.
