Joe Berger, 68, Buried Today

Joe Berger, 68, life-time resident of the Tours community passed away at Providence Hospital in Waco at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

He became ill at Tours earlier in the day and collapsed after going home to rest. He died soon after being taken to the Waco hospital. Although suffering from high blood pressure, Mr. Berger had not been seriously ill.

Funeral services were to be conducted by Rev. J. T. Geiser at St. Martin's Church in Tours this morning, Friday, at 8:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Martin's Cemetery.

Rosary was recited at Aderhold's Chapel Thursday evening at 8 p.m.

Survivors include a son, Joe E. Berger of Waco; six daughters, Mrs. Joe Filer, Mrs. Charles Fajkus, Mrs. Frank Pavlicek, Mrs. Albin Pavlicek, all of Tours, Mrs. M. T. Cheves of Germany, Miss Clement(ine) Berger of Dallas; two brothers, Frank Berger of Elk and Anton Berger of Tours; a sister, Mrs. Albert Deiterman of Tours.

Mr. Berger was engaged in farming all his life up to his retirement some three years ago. His wife preceded him in death over 12 years ago. He was a member of the West Council of the Knights of Columbus and St. Martin's Society at Tours.
