OBIT
The Lebanon Enterprise, Wednesday, 7-25-1990. OCTAVIA BEATRICE LUCAS, 77, died July 14, 1990, at Colonial House Nursing Home in Bardstown. Lucas was a former resident of New Hope and New Haven. She was born in the Highview Section of Larue County and was the daughter of the late George Thomas and Sudie Holthouser Mattingly. She was a member of the New Haven Senior Citizens Club and St. Catherine Catholic Church in New Haven. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Lucas, on Jan. 23, 1946, two daughters, Mary Venita Delgado, on Feb. 20, 1984, and Margaret Ann Lucas on Feb. 20, 1944. Survivors include: two daughters, Frances Goldman of Fern Creek and Mary Ellen Mattingly of St. Francis; four sons, Anthony "Tony" Lucas of New Haven, Joseph Harold of Mt. Washington, James Roy of Springfield and Sonny Lucas of Raywick; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were conducted July 17, 1990, at St. Catherine Catholic Church with burial in St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church Cemetery in New Hope. Rev. Wayne Jenkins officiated. Active pallbearers were William Cahoe, Terry Mattingly, mark, Wayne Donnie and Ron Lucas and Randy Delgado. Honorary pallbearers were members of the New Haven Senior Citizens Club. Prayer services were held at 8:30 p.m. July 16, 1990, at the funeral home, Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home, New Haven, was in charge of the arrangements. Buried in St. Vincent dePaul Cemetery, New Hope, Ky.; Section 4.
