William Landers Dies At Portland; Funeral Rites Sunday
William Landers, 73 died Friday at at the home
of his grandaughter Mrs. George Speare, at Portland. He had been ill for the past year, his conditiong becoming serious one week ago. Infirmities of age was given as the cause of death.
The deceased was born in Jay County December 31, 1865, the son of Henry and Mary Armentrout Landers. He was united in marriage to Lucy Ann Stephenson, who died April 29, 1930.
Surviving are three sons, Ed Landers, Portland, Frank Landers, of Madison township and John Landers, of Bearcreek township, Jay county: twenty-two grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren: and two brothers Isaac Landers, Anderson and James Landers, Geneva, and one sister, Mrs. Christina Steen, Portland.
Funeral servives will be held Sunday afternon at 2 o'clock from the Portland Weslyan Methodist church. Rev. Lee Tyndall, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Gravel Hill cemetery.
