Helen L. Jamieson, 80, of Reed City died Tuesday, June 9, at Pleasant Ridge Center near Marion.

She was born October 4, 1928 in Boon to Henry and Ethel (Carpenter) Zeitz. She attended Mapledale Elementary School and graduated from Mesick High School.

Helen married Bryce Jamieson on December 3, 1949. He preceded her in death in 1995. She married Ken Thiel on December 18, 1999. He survives.

She had lived the last 54 years in Reed City, where she was co-owner with her husband of the Gambles Store. In addition, she had worked as secretary at St. Philip Neri Church and was active in Real Estate sales.

Helen also was an active member of the First Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, a deaconess and church clerk. She had an active interest in foster care for children and the elderly and had been a Girl Scout leader.

Also surviving are three daughters, Karen (Stephen) Akom of Tustin, LuAnn (Mark) Perkins of Holland, and Renee (Douglas) Meyers of Kent City; stepchildren, Jackie (Jordan) Spedowski of Reed City, Julie Thiel of Mesa, Ariz., and Paul Thiel of Alaska; one sister, Luella Trinkle of Cadillac; two brothers, Edwin Zeitz of Cadillac and Roy Zeitz of Boon; five grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Crosby and Pauline Harvey; and two brothers, Harold Zeitz and Don Rogers.
