Roy T. Zeitz of Boon died Thursday, March 3, 2011 at home with his family by his side after a battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was 81.

He was born September 10, 1929 in Selma Township, to Henry and Ethel (Carpenter) Zeitz. He graduated from Mesick High School in 1947. On June 16, 1950 he married Golda (Goldie) Wood of Manton.

Roy was a lifelong resident of the Boon area and was a dairy farmer all his life. He enjoyed music, playing cards and his many friends.

He loved working with people and was on many different boards and committees over the course of his life, including: Wexford Soil Conservation District for many years, Supervisor of Boon Township, Baker College Consortium Representing Agriculture, Farmer's Home Administration, Wexford County Road Commission and was also an active member of the Wexford County Republican Party.

He is survived by his wife, Goldie; sons, Mark and Ray Zeitz of Boon; a sister, Luella Trinkle of Cadillac; a brother, Edwin Zeitz of Cadillac; and his beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Sally Jean; sisters, Pauline Harvey, Evelyn Crosby, Helen Jamieson-Theil; brothers, Donald Rogers and Harold Zeitz.
