Mrs. Laura Haskell Reeves, daughter of M.M. and Mary Haskell, was born in the state of Illinois, February 22, 1855, and died at her home in Tuttle, OK, July 4, 1914, age 59 years, 5 months, and 12 days. When but a small child, her parents moved to Clinton, IN, where she grew to womanhood.
Her family came to Kansas in the fall of 1878, and settled in Butler County, near Augusta.
She was married to C.T. Reeves November 16, 1879. To this union were born 9 children, 6 of whom with her husband are now living.
Stacey Reeves, Aaron, KS; Mrs. Mollie Neal, Cambridge, KS; Marcus Reeves, Tuttle, OK; Everett Reeves, Wilmot, KS; Clarence Reeves, Tuttle, OK. She leaves her husband and family of 14 grandchildren, 4 brothers, and one sister to mourn her loss.
Mrs. Reeves was a devoted, loving mother and will be greatly missed by her many friends as well as her family.
Sister Reeves was converted when but a small child and lived a devoted Christian life and died in the triumphs of a living faith.
The body was brought to Wilmot, KS, where the funeral services were conducted by Rev. Roy Boyer of Allen, MO, Monday afternoon, July 6, and she will be laid to rest in the Wilmot Cemetery.
