George F. Haskell died at his home near Wonsevu last Saturday morning at 9:15 following an illness caused from cancer of the stomach, and from which he had suffered for the past 6 months. Mr. Haskell came to this county about 3 years ago from Latham, KS, and had since been farming for Crocker Brothers in the south part of the county.

The remains were sent to Latham Sunday morning and the funeral services were held the same afternoon after which interment was made in the Latham Cemetery in which relatives of the deceased are buried.

Mr. Haskell was 47 years of age and leaves a wife and 7 children, 2 of them being married. He had been engaged in farming and stock raising nearly all his life and had lived in Latham for many years before coming to this county. He was a man respected and honored by all who knew him, and although he had lived in this county but a short time, yet he had made many friends and acquaintances who were grieved to learn of his death.

For several weeks Mr. Haskell's condition had been critical. He had spent considerable time in a hospital and it seemed that all the best medical skill could do was done but without avail.
