Obituary

Mary Jane Reeves, daughter of Caleb and Laura Reeves, was born in Augusta, Kansas, November 13, 1883. She died at Medicine Lodge, Kansas, September 18, 1937, at the age of 53 years, 10 months, and 5 days.


She was a resident of Cowley County, KS, until 10 years ago, when she moved to Medicine Lodge. There she lived until death took her away. At the age of 16 years she became a member of the Christian Church and remained faithful until the end.


She was married to William Kinsley Neal, November 27, 1909. To this union 4 children were born, all of whom are still living. Surviving relatives are her husband; 4 children, Mrs. Florence Huston, Los Angeles, CA ; Mrs. Hazel Murphy, Woodrow Neal, and Glenn Neal, all of Medicine Lodge, and one sister, Mrs. L.E. Lewis, La Junta, CO; 3 brothers, Stacey Reeves, Wichita; Everett Reeves, Atlanta, KS; and Clarence Reeves, Arkansas City; also near relatives.


She was a faithful and loving wife, whose only thought Poowas for the happiness of others. Funeral services were held at Medicine Lodge, Tuesday morning, September 21 at 10 o'clock. The Rev. R.C. Scott, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiated. Interment was at Medicine Lodge, in the Highland Cemetery.
