Born Jan. 27, 1915, in Bonne Terre, daughter of the late George William and Mary Stephanie Bouchard Frey, her family moved to a farm just north of Sikeston in 1917. She was a 1933 Sikeston High School graduate and a member of the girl's championship basketball team. She was later employed as a secretary for the Sikeston Public Schools and as a case worker for the Scott County Department of Welfare. For many years she was employed with International Shoe Company where she was the pitcher for their softball team. After retirement, she volunteered for the Sikeston Department of Public Safety. She was a parishioner of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabella.
On Feb. 12, 1934, in Sikeston, she married Oliver Louis Dumay who preceded her in death on April 25, 1990. For over 40 years they lived on North Kingshighway. She later resided at La Bonne Maison before moving to Harrisonville in 2004. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed greatly by her family.
She is survived by: two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald Louis and Ann Dumay, and Richard Allen and Carolyn Dumay; one brother and sister-in-law, Stanford and Alma Frey; and grandchildren, David Louis Dumay and wife, Jan, Susan Dumay Wolfe and husband, David, Scott Dumay Knowles, Becca Dumay Caldwell and husband, James, and Michael Allen Dumay.
She was preceded in death by: one son, Kenneth Michael Dumay; one daughter, Wilma Jean Dumay; four brothers, George Frey, Clyde Frey, Stephen Frey and Raymond Frey; and three sisters, Florence Scherer, Sophia Frey and Gladys Mader.
Visitation was held at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Funeral services were held at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Monsignor Richard Rolwing, senior priest in service, officiated.
Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery.
