Emil Loutsch, 78, Oyens, longtime area farmer, died Monday (Jan. 29, 1979) at Floyd Valley hospital in Le Mars after a brief illness. He had lived at Happy Siesta, Remsen, since September 1974.

Emil Nicholas Loutsch was born January 23, 1901 at rural Remsen, Iowa to John and Susanna (Hansen) Loutsch.

He lived and farmed near Remsen until he married Rose Barbara Hunt on January 23, 1924 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen, Iowa. They moved to Granville where they farmed until 1931 when they moved to their Oyens farm. They retired in 1963.

He was a member of the Oyens Columbus club.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Oyens with pastor Rev. Richard Ries and Rev. Nicholas Ruba as con-celebrants. Burial will be in the parish cemetery under direction of the Fisch funeral home in Remsen.

Parish rosaries will be at 3 and 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pall beareers will be six grandsons, Kenneth Kilker, Anthony, Charles, David, Michael, and William Loutsch.

He is survived by the following children: Raymond and Joan (Goebel) Loutsch of Oyens, Dorothy and Robert Kilker of Le Mars, Robert and Wilma (Pottebaum) Loutsch of Dysart, Ronald and Lorna (Kunkel) Loutsch of Westfield, Jerome Loutsch of Des Moines, William and Rosalie (Lehman) Loutsch of Oyens, and Mary and Leo Goebel of Newell; 38 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Nicholas (Katherine) Ruba of Remsen.

He was preceeded in death by his wife on Jan. 7, 1967; his son, Orville on July 29 1946; brothers, Andrew, Dominic, John A, Jr., Michael, and Andrew; sisters, Mary (John) Schroeder, Anna (William) Conrad, and Margaret (John) Ritz.
