Edward R. Barrow was born in Perry County, Illinois, and was the son of Marion Barrow and Elizabeth Thomason Barrow. May 20, 1870. Family history informations gives the date May 12, 1870, but the death certificate and the grave marker record his birth date as May 20, 1870. Edward married Anna Hazeltime Settle (October 29, 1877-January 22, 1964) in 1895, in Missouri. They had three children:

1. Harland O. Barrow, born January 11, 1896, died June 30, 1997
2. Albert Eugene Barrow, born September 11, 1899, died April, 1983
3. Norman Barrow, born September 21, 1903, died October 17, 1908

Edward R. Barrow died on June 15, 1943, (or January 5, 1943, according to family history) in St. Francois Township, Wayne County, Missouri, and was buried in Greenville Cemetery, Missouri, south side of Highway 67.

Journal, Sept. 29, 1904, "We caught the names of the following who left for the World's Fair City Monday morning: Albert Ward and sister, Cynthia Ward, Joe Hunter and wife, Newt Settle and wife, Ed Barrow and wife, Frank McCabe, Mrs. J. H. Settle, Mrs. J. M. Bowers, of Greenville; Mrs. Dicy Alexander, Mr. Willis Alexander, Mrs. R. B. Gladden, of Williamsville."
