In the 1920 census, Charles and his brother, Frank, were living in St. Francois with their brother Abner and his wife. In the 1930 census, Charles is living with brother Frank, and they are listed as being clerks in a general store. Charles and his brother Ellsworth had interests in the Greenville Sun Newspaper. Charles never married. He died September 26, 1966, in Greenville, Wayne County, Missouri, and was buried at Greenville Cemetery, Missouri.
