JOHN AUSTIN
John Austin, aged 63 years, died at his home on South Main street, Union Bridge, about 3 o'clock on Tuesday morning, May 11, of a complication of diseases. Mr. Austin was a native of Ireland, but came at the age of 4 years with his parents to this country in 1850, settling in Iowa, where he had resided up to about three weeks ago, when he came here with his family and occupied one of Mr. Geo. P. Buckey's houses, expecting to purchase a farm in this locality before another farming season. He is survived by a widow, three sons and one daughter. His funeral took place yesterday afternoon. Service in College Chapel, conducted by Prof. Wm. Wine, assisted by Elder E. W.Stoner, and interment in Mountain View cemetery. The pallbearers were Dr. M. M. Norris, Messrs. J. W. Arbaugh, J. T. Morningstar, S. D.Senseney, John E. Eppley and Wm. Wood. F. J. Shriner, undertaker.
