Jonathan M. Drake

PEKIN ~ Jonathan M. Drake, 85, of 312 Buena Vista, died at 1:45 p.m. Monday in Pekin memorial Hospital. He had been a patient three days and had been in failing health one and a half years.

His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kuecks Funeral Home, the Rev. James Welsh officiating. Burial Will be in the cemetery at Green Valley.

He was born June 29, 1878, in Malone Township, a son of Jonathan M. and Sarah Shotwell Drake. He married Estella Waltmire Aug. 16, 1902, at Kansas City, Mo.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Jonathan C. and Wilbert R., both Green Valley; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Nolte, Port Charlotte, Fla., Mrs. Margaret Edland, 508 Manchester Road, Normal; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

A daughter, a son, four sisters and six brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Drake formerly farmed in the Green Valley area and was a retired employee of American Distilling Co. He had lived in Pekin 31 years.
