George Owen Whitson, 73, of Granby, Mo., died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1992, at Sale Hospital after a three month illness.
He was a native of Wayne County and was a brother of . . . and Mildred Finley of Johnsonville.
Mr. Whitson was a carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Union Local 63, of Bloomington, Ill.
Rites Conducted
Funeral rites were held Saturday from the Clark Funeral Home in Neosho, Mo., with Rev. Jack Jones officiating. Interment was in Diamond Cemetery at Diamond, Mo.
He was born July 17, 1920, in Wayne County.
On Sept. 14, 1946, in Wayne County he was married to E. Rose Lowe. The couple moved to Granby, Mo., in 1955.
Mr. Whitson served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Memorials may be made to the Hilldale Baptist Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.
