This is the only one that spells her father’s name correctly:
Miss Ruth Whitson, oldest daughter of Wilbert Whitson, died at her home north of Wayne City Saturday night. Funeral services were conducted at the Hopewell church Monday afternoon.

Another one:
Miss Ruth Whitson daughter of Wilburn [sic] Whitson who has been sick for the pat few months died Saturday night and funeral services were held at Hopewell Monray [sic] at 1 0o’clock [sic] and interment in cemetery nearby. A large crwod [sic] was in attendance. She leave sa father, a kind step-mother, three half sisters, two half brothers, an aged grandmother, who helped to care fo [sic] her during her sickness and a host of relatives and friends. Ruth was a kind and ovable Christian girl and was loved by all who knew her.

And this one from Wayne City, 3/17/1927:
Young Lady Called By Grim Reaper
Miss Ruth Whitson, daughter of William [sic] Whitson, who has been sick for the past several months passed away Saturday night at the home of her father. Funeral services were held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Hopewell, interment was made in Hopewell Cemetery.
Her many sorrowing friends who were in attendance, and those who were with her in high school brough many beautiful floral offerings. She leaves a father, a kind step mother, two half brothers, three half sisters, an aged grandmother who helped to care for her during her sickness and a host of relatives and friends.
Ruth was a kind and lovable christian girl, and was loved by al [sic] knew her.
