Mildred M. Thompson, Sept. 3, 1910 - June 2, 1996, Mildred M. THOMPSON, 85, 12772 East 300 South, Akron, died at 9:55 p.m. Sunday at Woodlawn Hospital. She has been in failing health for several years. Born in Miami County to Truman and Stella SHOEMAKER HARTZLER, she was married Oct.6, 1934, in Marion to Byron E. THOMPSON, who preceded in death Feb. 13, 1995. She was a homemaker and had worked at Timbercrest, North Manchester. She was a member of Akron Church of God. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Sue RITCHIE, Paw Paw, Ill.; a son, Stuart A. THOMPSON, Akron; four grandchildren, Carl THOMPSON, Carter THOMPSON, April KAISER, Robin GRIFFIN; a great-granddaughter and two great-grandsons; a sister, Flossie LANCE, North Manchester. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Nettie MILLER, Nellie MAYNARD, Mabelle RAMSEY, Mary POLK; five brothers, Floyd, Orville "Pete", Russell "Bob", Lester "Joe", Forrest "Bud" [HARTZLER]. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Akron Church of God with Pastor James MALBONE officiating. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday [at the Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron].
