David Holmes Dies Suddenly
Services To Be Held At Presbyterian Church Wednesday
David F. Holmes, 64 promient farmer in Eagle Twonship, died suddenly in his home on Route 3 st 9:15 O'clock this morning following a heart attack which he suffered nine hours prviosly. Word of his passing will come as a shock to his many frinds in the community as he had not been previosly ill.
Services will be held in the Presbyterian Church at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Rev. E.W. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call in the family home five and one-half miles west pf the city after three o'clock Tuesday until noon Wednesday, when the body will be removed to the church.
The son of the late Robert and Anna (Alexander) Holmes, Mr. Holmes was born in the family homestead, four miles southwest of Streator, September 30, 1887. His marriage to Winifred Fraser of this city occurred at Danville, October 31, 1910. She remains with five daughters, Mrs. L.J. )Winifred) Seibel, Streator, Mrs. Margaret White, Chicago, Mrs.A.W. (Robeta) Benedict, Glen Ellyn; Mrs. Eldon ( Norma) Worsley, Mendota; MrsPaul D. (Davie Jean) Smith, Clevelans Ohio.
Also left are eight grandchildren, Richard and Janet Golsin, Barbara Benedict, Davis and Jane Worsley, and Paul D. Smith Jr.
A brother Ralph R, Holmes and a sister Mrs. John (Blanche) Lightholder reside in Streator.
Mr. Holmes was a dairy farmer and director of the Milk Association of this community. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.
