Mabel Bost Carson

Services for Mabel Bost Carson, 92, of West Columbia, S.C. will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church of Cayce, S.C., conducted by Rev. Joe Borgkvist Jr., with burial at Southland Memorial Gardens. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Cayce. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, S.C.

Mrs. Carson, widow of John Tate Carson, died Saturday, April 3, 2004. Born in Morganton, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Calloway and Carrie Whisnant Bost. Mrs. Carson was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cayce.

Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Carson of West Columbia, S.C. and Judy Carson Rau and Raymond Rau of North Branch, Minn.; sons and daughter-in-law, John and Jean Carson of Goldsboro and Edward Carson of West Columbia, S.C.; sisters and brother-in-law, Katheryne Watkins of Loudon, Tenn., Hazel and Kenneth Poteat, Dorothy Packett, Joyce Hogan and Ivis Bost, all of Marion; brothers, Conley Bost of Marion and Buddy Bost of Loudon, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
