Mary was born north of Avon, a daughter of George W. and Melvina Merritt. She married James Flinn also of this county, in 1879. Mr. Flinn died in 1910.
She had been making her home with her granddaughter for the last two winters, but returned to her home near Avon each summer, and had planned to do so again this summer.
She was a member of the Primitive Baptist church at Abner's Creek.
Survivors are two sons, Walter, of Danville, and Harvey of Brownsburg; two daughters, Myrtle Prior of Bedford, and Pearl Burgin of Indianapolis.
