Reuban A. Merritt died suddenly, Saturday morning at his north of Avon, at the age of 70. He had been in poor health for a few months but his death came suddenly as he was about his accustomed duties.
He is survived by a wife, three children, Flora Hill and Mate Chilton, of Indianapolis, and Willard Merritt, of near Brownsburg, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was a faithful member of the Regular Baptist church at Abner's Creek.
He was the son of George W. and Malvina Merritt and was a brother of Mary I. Flinn and Wm. and S. N. Marritt, of Avon.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at Salem church. Interment in Crown Hill cemetery at Indianapolis.
