CROXTON, Elsie Virginia, age 102, of Farnham, Va., widow of James Marvin Croxton, was promoted from her earthly jouney to her heavely home on Sunday, March 29, 2009. She was a charter member, and also the oldest living member of Victory Baptist Church, Warsaw, Va. Elsie was the daughter of Eugene Dunaway Balderson and Mary Cash Balderson. She was preceded in death by her husband; two daughters, Margaret Mutispaw and Rachel Croxton; one son, Mitchell Croxton; a stepson, James Albert Croxton Sr.; a grandson, Wesley Thomas; a stepgrandson, James Albert Croxton, Jr.; and a step great-grandson, David Allan Stanley. She is survived by three daughters, Thelma Frizzelle Ivey of Warsaw, Va., Lucille Thomas and husband, Reverend John Thomas of Warsaw, Va. and Dorothy Grizzelle of Millersville, Md.; three sons, James Robert Croxton and wife, Elfriede of Richmond, Va., William "Bill" Emory Croxton and wife, Mildred of Chester, Va. and Reverend Linwood Croxton and wife, Carol of Simpsonville, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Mildred Croxton of Richmond, Va.; 25 grand- children, two step-grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, seven step great-grandchildren, 26 great-great-grandchildren, eight step great-great- grandchildren; and one sister, Cammie Thompson of Oldhams, Va. She and her husband have a total of 131 descendents. The family will receive friends at Jones-Ash Funeral Home, Rainswood, Va. on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from 1 to 2 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Burial to follow at Totuskey Baptist Church, Haynesville, Va. Memorial contributions may be sent to Lucille Thomas, P.O. Box 1106, Warsaw, Va. 22572, to be divided between Reverend Linwood Croxton Ministries and Warsaw Church of God Building Fund.
