Martha was wed to Gabriel Louis St. Germain on November 1, 1893, in Prairie du Chien, Crawford Co. WI. They were the parents of Emily Marie (July 23, 1894 - December 27, 1979) and Violet Virginia (September 17, 1902 - July 11, 2001). The family lived for a while in Minneapolis, MN, going to Gays Mills, Crawford Co., WI and finally to Georgetown, Georgetown Co., SC where they spent the rest of their lives.
"Mattie" died at a nursing facility in Charleston, SC. at the age of 49yrs. Services were held at her Catholic Church in Georgetown, SC - but they are all interred at All Saints Episcopal Church Cemetery on Pawleys Island - 70 miles North of Charleston. Her Obit states she was to be buried in Elmwood Cemetery - but was not. The date of birth on her cemetery marker is in error. I phoned the Library in Georgetown, SC - one of the Librarians told me they had been given a box of photos purchased at a garage sale. I explained who the family was, and she promptly added them to FAG. She did transfer the memorials to me to add the family history. Martha gifted my mother (her niece) with a box of pecans every Christmas except for the hurricane years. Submitted by Grand Nephew - Peter (Barrette/Dousman Family) Rodgers.
