Her siblings were Mae Virginia (Thomas Edward Ward), Theresa (Existe Brothers), Philomena "Minnie" (Lazarus "Lon" Pitt), Susan Emily (lived 2yrs), Martha "Mattie" Josephine (Gabriel St. Germain), Mae Emily (1866-1885) and Charles Louis Barrette (1867-1875).
Mary Jane wed Charles D. Brandes on October 4, 1877, at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien, WI. They became the parents of Gertrude Emily, Violet Mae (Raymond Calhoon) and her twin - Bertha Ellen who died at birth and Martha "Mattie" (Edward Rittenhouse).
Charles Brandes & Mary Jane along with daughter Gertrude are buried at Gays Mills Cemetery. At the time of Mary's death - she was living with her daughter Violet Brandes Calhoun in LaFarge, Vernon Co., WI. Date of Birth on tombstone is in error. Should read December 17, 1854.
